Radical fighters in Handarat Refugee Camp thwarted a massive attack launched by the Syrian Army and Palestinian pro-government al-Quds Brigade. The military operation was launched early this morning with intense airstrikes and artillery barrage. Large numbers of infantry then began the ground operation. However, the holed-up militants managed to thwart the attack, killing nearly 30 of the attackers who are mostly the original residents of the Refugee Camp.
In April 2013, Jihadists fighting for al-Qaeda franchise in Syria, Jabhet al-Nusra, and the Turkey-backed Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, took over Handarat Refugee Camp, massacring pro-government fighter.
