Although insurgents are isolated in the ‘Azaz pocket‘, some 400 Islamist reinforcements have now arrived to the area after being allowed to cross the border by the Turkish Army. These reinforcements will in turn assist the Syrian Opposition in the Azaz pocket, an area pressured by Kurds to the West and ISIS to the East; both factions have clashed sporadically with rebel forces in the past weeks. It is not entirely clear if the newly arrived rebel fighters were trained in Turkey or redeployed from the Idlib governorate through Turkey.
