The Pentagon announced on Tuesday that two U.S. military personnel were wounded by “indirect fire” during non-combat operations against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in both Iraq and Syria. These two U.S. military personnel were wounded while advising the Peshmerga forces in Nineveh (Iraq) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern Al-Raqqa. The U.S. military adviser that was wounded in the Al-Raqqa Governorate is the first casualty reported by the Pentagon during this five year long war in Syria.
