On 3 June 2016, the Pentagon has parachuted weapons to armed groups in Marea (Syria). Washington hopes these fighters will help to reduce Daesh in the province of Rakka.

Armed groups that have benefited from this assistance in violation of international law are  either affiliated with the Kurdish YPG,  or Turkmen framed by Turkish soldiers, or even Arab who is part of the Free Syrian Army framed by French soldiers.

The latter two groups have previously fought the Syrian Arab Republic alongside the Al-Nusra Front (Al-Qaeda) and Ahrar al-Sham, two organisations responsible for crimes against humanity.
