PALMYRA, SYRIA (10:00 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force carried out several airstrikes over the eastern countryside of Homs on Tuesday, striking the Islamic State’s defences at a number of villages along the International Highway to the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

Among the many targets for the Russian Air Force on Tuesday was an Islamic State command-and-control center at the gas-rich village of ‘Arak in rural Palmyra.

According to a Syrian military source, the Russian Air Force destroyed the Islamic State command-and-control centre, while also taking out several armoured vehicles that were located near the ‘Arak Gas Fields.

The Russian Air Force would also target the villages of Al-Shoulah (Deir Ezzor) and Al-Sukhanah along the International Highway, killing several Islamic State terrorists that were reportedly traveling to the Deir Ezzor front.
