The Syrian government’s media department released rare footage from the otherwise relatively calm frontline in southern Syria, showcasing the destruction of a jihadist command post in Daraa city, near the border with Jordan.

The thermal footage purportedly shows the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) firing a surface-to-surface ‘Elephant missile’ at night towards a building controlled by Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (al-Qaeda affiliate) militants.

The Elephant missile has seen widespread use during the conflict in Syria and is known for its ear-deafening sound and a somewhat unorthodox trajectory.
