DAMASCUS, SYRIA (6:00 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) foiled a major Islamic State attack on the Deir Ezzor Military Airport today after a long six hour battle with the aforementioned terrorist group.
ISIS began the offensive by storming the Syrian Arab Army’s defences at the southern axis of the airport, along with the Al-Jafra Farms at the southeastern perimeter of this military installation.
Despite their repeated attacks on the Syrian Army’s defences, the Islamic State militants were unable to make any significant advances at the Al-Jafra Farms and Deir Ezzor Airport.
According to a military source, the Syrian Arab Army killed well over 30 Islamic State terrorists on Wednesday, including a number of foreign combatants from Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
The military source added that since the Syrian Arab Army foiled the ISIS offensive, they have conducted a cleansing operation around the Deir Ezzor Airport to clear the area of any terrorists.
