Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Ankara would terminate its obligations to control the flow of refugees, especially as the EU is not fulfilling its commitments.
In his speech after the meeting of the European Parliament during which the decision was taken to freeze Turkey’s accession negotiations to the EU, Erdogan accused European politicians of lying, which does is not without reason:
“You have never treated mankind honestly and you have not taken care of the people fairly. You did not welcome babies thrown on the coasts of the Mediterranean. We are the ones who feed about 3.5 million refugees in the country. You have not kept your promises. When 50,000 migrants were raised in Kapikule, you cried and asked, “What will we do if Turkey opens its borders?” Listen to me. If you go further, these borders will open. You must know what to do then! “
