1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman / woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office.
2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 3/1/17. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.
Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work.
If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people, then it will only take three days for most people in the U.S. to receive the message. It’s time!

Those numbers about retirement/pension are the stupid crap that’s been circulating the internet for years. If you want to stop a problem, it only does you harm when you spread lies and misinformation.
“members of Congress do not receive their full pay as a pension upon leaving office. That’s the case whether they served one term or several.” Congressmen serving only one two- year term cannot collect any pension at all. Since a Senator serves 6 years, three times as much as a Congressman, if retiring after one term, he/she may collect $16,000 per year, not $174,000. While I personally don’t think they should get squat after only 6 years, I would permit a pension after 12 (if we install a term limit of 12 years), or 20 years if there is no term limit.

I believe public servents who already get salarys that are 10 times more then that of the business world people should not get life retirement money’s that match there salarys when they were in office. I think on the lines of warren buffet , that with lowing the salarys of these people and not giving them life time retirements that cost our government billions each year need to stop.. The budget could be balanced with cutting these spendings and cutting money’s used for defending other wars and spending more on American . American vets, home less people and family’s , jobs and job training for people to go back to work, business loans for small and big business financed by the government, give business loan for business ideas and watch the government make money to run the government…. Make those changes in the government to run America with out help from other counties. Our government now is how it is ran is the problem with money.
