BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:15 P.M.) – The Turkish military resumed their attacks against the predominately Kurdish “People’s Protection Units” (YPG) in the Afrin Canton of northern Aleppo, ARA News Agency reported on Tuesday.

According to the report from ARA News, the Turkish Army began shelling the villages of Maranaaz, Vilat Al-Qadi, and Sheikh Issa in the eastern part of Afrin, violating the Syrian nationwide ceasefire.

The YPG would later issue an official statement condemning the Turkish Army’s aggression on Tuesday; thus, confirming reports of this attack in northern Aleppo.

Despite claiming their primary focus is the Islamic State in northern Syria, the Turkish Army has repeatedly attacked the Kurdish forces and their allies across the country.
