BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:20 P.M.) – At 9:00 A.M. this morning, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) began shelling Tadef in east Aleppo, marking their first attack on this strategic town since they lost it in 2013.

Following several hours of shelling the Islamic State’s (ISIS) positions at Tadef, the Syrian Arab Army began their ground assault to liberate this town located just south of the terrorist group’s primary stronghold in east Aleppo.

According to a military source in east Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army is currently attacking the Islamic State’s positions from the southern axis of Tadef, while Russian and Syrian jets pound away at the terrorist group’s supply line from Al-Bab.

Leading today’s assault on Tadef is none other than the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces;” these soldiers have been at the forefront of every major battle in Aleppo’s eastern countryside since lifting the siege on the Kuweires Military Airport in November 2015.
