The Turkish Armed Forces and aligned rebel factions delt a devastating blow to the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) today as the Euphrates Shield forces not only captured Ulashi village but also killed and captured a number of Kurdish militants.
Moments ago, Turkish-backed rebels also captured the neighboring village of Bughaz.
During these clashes, 8 SDF fighters surrendered themselves and at least 13 Kurdish troops were left dead on the battlefield despite earlier reports that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is in the process of taking over this area.
One of the Kurdish prisoners of war was executed after being taken into captivity by a Free Syrian Army (FSA) affiliated group. In addition, rebel forces claimed to have captured a PKK fighter originating from Iraq.
The attack was led by the Turkish Army, FSA, Ahrar al-Sham and Failaq al-Sham.
Meanwhile, new contingents of Turkish Armed Forces arrived across the border to Jarabulus and are expected to join the Manbij offensive in the days to come despite the presence of US special forces alongside Kurdish forces in the region.
Meanwhile, 5 SAA soldiers also surrendered themselves to the Turkish Army on Monday.
