In the framework of the media war launched against Syria, misleading sides have created a spoof email address named (sana@sana.sy) via which they circulated baseless and untrue news on the issuance of a presidential decree stipulating for deposing Vice-President Farouq al-Sharaa after he went out of the country.
SANA also warns of exploiting its website’s emails and calls on all media outlets to inform the agency of any emails sent in its name.
SANA emphasises that it does not send news via its emails as it has a website for its news which is mainly accredited for its news bulletin, in addition to the news items posted on its website.
Earlier this month, SANA learned from some its sources that the opposition groups abroad would use the email of a number of official institutions, particularly SANA agency, to address ministries, important personalities and media outlets and broadcast fake emails via the email addresses of these institutions.

They’re trying everything: ketchup, fake emails, fake news, worcestershire-sauce fake heroism, hiding in the sewers, lurking out after civilians, sniping at civilians and laying the blame at the Syrian army’s door – lying through and through, in the name of whatever ideology they assume to be following.
The only way to prevail over such perfidity this is to turn what they are nearly totally lacking: moral integrity, sincerity, brotherliness, truthfulness – even willingness to forgive
